Rogers named one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers for 2016

The 2016 winners of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers competition were announced in a special magazine published in the Globe and Mail today, and we’re proud to be on the list for the fourth time.

The competition recognizes Canada’s leaders in creating inclusive workplaces for employees from these five groups:

  • LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans peoples)
  • Persons with Disabilities
  • Aboriginal Peoples
  • Women
  • Visible Minorities

We believe that by fostering an inclusive environment for all employees, we’ll break down attitudes and stereotypes and fully leverage the unique talents and experiences of our diverse workforce. What does that mean for you? It means that as an organization that values the experiences and perspectives of all our employees, we’re able to better identify with your needs.

We’ve engaged passionate leaders from across our company to be part of a new Inclusion & Diversity Council. The council is hard at work to increase our representation of these groups, and create a safe environment where all employees can reach their full potential.     I am visible minority that was a previous employee w/Rogers. I am contemplating to come back with Rogers in some capacity. I keep getting “turned away” from being accepted back from HR, even though I left on good terms. Seems this “diversity recognition” is more redundant as being a visible minority myself and do not feel recognized to being accepted back to Rogers, even though I have the qualifications and are quite familiar with the company culture. Quite frankly the company does not “break down attitudes and stereotypes and fully leverage the unique talents and experiences of our diverse workforce” as the above says, and feel once as redundant. Just my 2 cents. 🙂
