Hear from the Class of 2017: Getting to know Stephanie

My name is Stephanie, something interesting about me is I’ve never been on a plane!

Where do you volunteer – what’s your favorite thing about what you do?
I volunteer at Right To Play. One of my favourite things about volunteering is the interaction I have with the kids. When I walk in every week, the kids that are always excited and full of energy.

Why was receiving a Ted Rogers Scholarship special?
Receiving the Ted Rogers Scholarship was special because I have been volunteering at Right To Play for the past three years. I’ve see now it has grown over the past few of years, and I’ve seen the work it takes to run the program and I’m grateful to be honoured for my work at the organization. Not only that, but I know when I go into university I’ll have some money so it makes it easier for both me and my parents.

Where do you plan on going to school and what will you study?
In September I will be going to the University of Guelph-Humber studying Early Childhood Studies.

What are your long-term goals?
One of my long-term goals has always been travelling somewhere new – maybe different parts of Asia.
