Currently on its 14th edition, this globally recognized ranking is awarded to companies that raise the bar on sustainability and social responsibility. Companies are measured across twelve sustainability metrics, including greenhouse gas productivity, diversity performance, health and safety practices, and pension fund quality. The award criteria is used as best practice for transparency and objectivity.
CivicAction’s Race to Reduce Awards - 2015
This corporate challenge to improve air quality by reducing energy use in office buildings across the GTA is open to all landlords and tenants in all buildings of any age, size of use. Rogers received The Team Excellence Award and The Building Performance Award in recognition of its energy reduction efforts.
Canadian Institute of Child Health’s Corporate Award
Recognizes programs that support the health and well-being of Canadian children and their families.
Rogers received this award because of its demonstrated efforts in community programs such as Rogers Youth Fund that improve the quality of life for children and youth in Canada in the classroom and beyond.
Global ‘Beyond Sports’ Team of the Year Award (the Toronto Blue Jays)
‘Beyond Sports’ looks at organizations that promote, develop and support the use of sport to create positive social change. Selected from among 435 submissions representing 135 countries, the Toronto Blue Jays received this award for their efforts through the Jays Care Foundation and were recognized as one of the only major league sports teams to support community programs across the entire country.
FTSE 4 Good Index Series - 2016
The FTSE4 Good Index Series objectively measures the performance of companies that meet globally recognized standards for corporate responsibility. Measures include economic, environmental, social responsibility and corporate governance performance.
Jantzi Social Index
The Jantzi Social Index (JSI) includes 60 Canadian companies that meet environmental, social and governance rating criteria. The JSI evaluates performance across key indicators that include aboriginal relations, community involvement, corporate governance, employee relations, environment and human rights.
Major League Baseball Commissioner’s Award for Philanthropic Excellence
Recognizes the MLB club that demonstrates extraordinary charitable efforts. The Blue Jays won the award for their Rookie League initiative in Toronto’s community housing neighbourhoods; and the Jays Care Foundation’s Field of Dreams project, helping communities refurbish baseball fields and recreational spaces.
