Maureen Holloway Kick-Starts Toronto Mornings on Darren and Mo on 98.1 CHFI, Beginning Jan. 9

TORONTO (December 14, 2016) Beginning January 9, fan-favourite radio personality Maureen Holloway signs on to wake Torontonians up each weekday morning with the launch of the all-new morning show Darren and Mo on 98.1 CHFI, alongside esteemed co-host Darren B. Lamb. With her infectious laugh, relatable humour, and fresh take on culture and entertainment, listeners can expect to stay informed – and entertained – all morning long. Adding to the mix, seasoned radio vet Christine Cardoso joins the duo as News Specialist, rounding out the 98.1 CHFI morning team.

As previously announced, beloved radio host Erin Davis will sign off as the voice of mornings on 98.1 CHFI, following a stellar career spanning nearly 30 years. Fans can tune in tomorrow from 5 to 9 a.m. to hear Davis’s heartfelt final show from a special live-broadcast celebration at Casa Loma in Toronto.
“Maureen’s such a great fit for CHFI –a smart, funny and accomplished woman who knows her mind and who she is,” said Davis. “And adding Christine to the mix, with her take on news–the show is going to be amazing.”

Born in Montreal, with a degree in Film Studies from Carleton University in Ottawa, Holloway began her broadcasting career when she was hired out of Ryerson’s Radio and Television Arts program to be a traffic reporter on CKFM with Don Daynard, and later went on to host several shows on the station. In 2000, she left to spend the next 15 years as co-host onDerringer in the Morning with Maureen Holloway. Holloway was most recently heard on the afternoon drive show on Toronto’s Rock Q107,The Mo Show, where she has been host since 2015.

Holloway is the recipient of the Canadian Association of Broadcaster’s Gold Ribbon Award for Humour. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, Holloway is an outspoken advocate for women’s health issues, and proud to be associated with fundraising campaigns for St. Michael’s Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital, Women’s College Hospital, and Wellspring.

Christine Cardoso is best known for her 10 year run alongside Mike Cooper as the co-host ofMike and Christine in the Morning at 97.3 EZ Rock FM in Toronto. Before sharing the morning show marquee, Cardoso was an entertainment reporter, traffic reporter, news reader, and lifestyle reporter at 97.3 FM.
