On-Air Team Announced for CityNews Edmonton, Launching Sept. 4
– Randi-Marie Adams, Rachelle Elsiufi, Haweya Fadal, Carly Robinson, Hayley Stelmack and Courtney Theriault to join CityNews Edmonton as Video Journalists –
EDMONTON (August 3, 2017) Beginning Monday, Sept. 4, Edmontonians will get a fresh approach to local news with the launch of CityNews in Edmonton. Airing nightly at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. MT, CityNews will focus on viewer-driven, original stories that are truly reflective of this city.
Out from behind the news desk and in the community, video journalists seeking out the hyper-local stories that matter most to Edmonton will power the CityNews nightly broadcasts – featuring Randi-Marie Adams, Rachelle Elsiufi, Haweya Fadal, Carly Robinson, Hayley Stelmack and Courtney Theriault.
“Our CityNews team is changing the landscape of traditional news,” said Scott Fralick, Supervising Producer, City Edmonton. “Delivering hard-hitting journalism from the streets of the city will appeal to younger Edmontonians, with credible content in real time.”
Meet the New CityNews Edmonton Team:
Randi-Marie Adams – A local resident of Edmonton and a passionate Edmonton Oilers fan, Adams comes to CityNews with a background producing and reporting on local stories for CHET TV and Peace FM.
Rachelle Elsiufi – An experienced news reporter and producer, Elsiufi worked as a local reporter and anchor for TBT News in Thunder Bay, and was most recently with CTV News in Prince Albert, SK.
Haweya Fadal – With experience working in multiplatform news environments, Haweya produced and reported on local stories for the Nightly News at NBC’s Washington Bureau, and most recently at WMTV at NBC15 in Madison, Wisconsin.
Carly Robinson – A graduate of the Radio & Television program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Robinson joins the CityNews team with a passion for journalism. With strong roots in the community, in her spare time Robinson volunteers to teach French leadership courses to high school students around the city.
Hayley Stelmack – A recent graduate from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Stelmack will be working with CityNews to engage weekend audiences. Her previous experience includes stops at CTV News and JD Buzz Productions where she assisted with production, writing, and editing.
Courtney Theriault – A familiar face to Edmontonians, Theriault is currently the host of Dinner Television on City, and previously was a news reporter for Breakfast Television. As part of the CityNews team, Theriault will continue to drive local news and equip Edmontonians with the vital information they need.
Seven days a week, viewers can catch one-hour newscasts packed with the latest updates on local stories with CityNews at Six at 6 p.m. and CityNews Tonight at 11 p.m. local time.
