Connected for Success Celebrates 200 Housing Partners

Connected for Success –  Rogers’ low-cost internet program – reached a milestone this month as it partnered with its 200th subsidized housing provider.

With partners across Rogers cable footprint in Ontario, New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador, Connected for Success continues to open a world of possibilities for Canadians with low income.  Since launching the program in 2013, more than 16,000 Canadians have gotten online via Connected for Success.

In celebration of reaching this milestone, we’d like to tell you about Linda.

When Linda’s friend offered her a second-hand laptop, she turned it down. Her friend insisted.

“I eventually said yes, thinking I’d give it to someone else because there was no way I’d get internet,” says Linda, who is tenant of Ontario’s London and Middlesex Housing Corporation. She lives with fibromyalgia, a chronic illness that affects the central nervous system. Until recently, she couldn’t afford internet access – she was offline for 11 years.

In May, Linda received a flyer promoting Connected for Success, a Rogers program that offers high-speed internet at $9.99 per month to residents of rent-subsidized non-profit housing. She thought this sounded too good to be true, but she phoned the number on the flyer. That call proved to be life-changing.
