Sportsnet and Pinty’s Sign Five-Year Extension for Title Sponsorship of Grand Slam of Curling

TORONTO (April 13, 2018) Sportsnet today announced a five-year sponsorship extension with Pinty’s as the exclusive title sponsor of the Grand Slam of Curling. The deal, which extends the current sponsorship agreement through to the end of the 2022-23 curling season, reflects Sportsnet and Pinty’s combined dedication effort to establish the Grand Slam series as the world’s elite curling tour and grow the sport of curling across Canada.

Details of the sponsorship extension include:

  • Exclusive Grand Slam of Curling series title sponsor through to the end of the 2022-23 season
  • In-venue sponsorship, including in-ice logos, on-site activations and branded rinkboards
  • Broadcast commercial spots, on-air mentions and integration across all Sportsnet platforms – TV, radio and digital
  • The growth of Pinty’s Pub & Grill Zone, an in-venue fan-favourite, to create a more immersive fan experience

In addition, the deal introduces the new Pinty’s Cup, a season-long race amongst all competing men’s and women’s curling teams. Beginning at the start of the 2018-19 season, teams will compete to accumulate points according to their performance during every Grand Slam event. The team that collects the highest total of points by the conclusion of the seventh Grand Slam event will capture the winner’s share of the $300,000 Rogers Bonus pool at the end of the season. The winners of both the men’s and women’s Pinty’s Cup will also receive personalized championship rings to commemorate their win.

Owned and operated by Sportsnet since 2012, the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling is an elite series of men’s and women’s curling events which are part of the World Curling Tour and feature the best teams from across Canada and around the world. The series expanded to seven from five events for the 2015-16 season. Additionally, total prize money for the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling events increased to $2 millionfor 2016-17 season.
