Rogers receives Canadian Red Cross “Partners in Humanity” Award

At Rogers, we are committed to helping build resilience in Canadian communities by investing in emergency preparedness and response, to help communities before, during and after a disaster. This includes investing in wildfire detection technology, supporting impacted customers by waiving services like we did this summer during the Jasper wildfires, and partnering with disaster relief organizations like the Canadian Red Cross.

We are honoured this year to receive the Canadian Red Cross “Partners in Humanity” Award for our longstanding partnership and support of the organization’s humanitarian and disaster relief efforts here in Canada and internationally since 2010. Support over the years includes:

  • Contributing millions of dollars to emergency appeals through donations, matching, and text-to-donate efforts;
  • Helping evacuees stay connected to critical resources and loved ones by providing rocket sticks and phones to evacuation centres;
  • Supporting emergency connectivity needs for Canadian Red Cross staff and volunteers by donating phones and SIM cards for use during a disaster or for deployment training exercises; and
  • Volunteering to help with Canadian Red Cross community programming.

“We are proud to support the Canadian Red Cross to help impacted communities when disasters strike. We are grateful for the recognition of our longstanding partnership and will continue to work with organizations on the frontline of disaster relief to help build community resiliency and respond when we are needed.”
Navdeep Bains, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Rogers

“This recognition acknowledges Rogers’ unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes and its support for the Canadian Red Cross since 2010 and is the first Canadian telecommunications company to receive this award. When there is news of a disaster here in Canada or abroad, Rogers is among the first corporate partners to reach out to offer their support. On behalf of the individuals, families and communities that Canadian Red Cross teams serve every single day, thank you!”
Tom Scinto, Director, Corporate Partnerships, Canadian Red Cross
