A Big First Month for Rogers On Demand Online
Over 1.8 million Page Views for Rogers On Demand Online in December; New Programming, Features and Functionality Launching in 2010
TORONTO, Jan. 15 /CNW/ – Launching just over one month ago, Rogers On Demand Online Beta has quickly become a hot web destination for hundreds of thousands of Canadians. In December 2009 alone, the site saw close to two million page views. Already, more than 46,000 Canadians have registered at www.rogersondemand.com, and those numbers continue to grow daily.
Available free to all Rogers Cable, Rogers Wireless, Rogers Hi Speed Internet and Rogers Home Phone subscribers from any streaming Internet connection across Canada, Rogers On Demand Online Beta is Canada’s best source of authenticated, aggregated, premium video content online. Backed by Rogers’ superior network and content selection and its continuous innovation, outstanding speed, quality and technology, Rogers On Demand Online is quickly becoming the best online destination in Canada for primetime and specialty TV programming, movies, sports and web-only exclusive content.

Since then, Rogers has signed content agreements with new partners including Alliance Films, Canada’s largest distributor; Ride Guide Productions; a weekly snowboard, freeski and mountain bike television series; and has also added new content including primetime programming from Global Television, History Television and Showcase. In addition, Rogers TV programming, featuring Structures, the unique, award-winning architecture and history series showcasing Toronto buildings and heritage that invites viewers to take a fresh look at their surroundings; and Toronto Dining, the guide to the city’s thousands of fine restaurants for an insiders’ look at how Toronto’s top chefs create their delicious dishes, is now available on Rogers On Demand Online.
More than 1,500 hours of programming are now available exclusively to Rogers subscribers through www.rogersondemand.com.
The Rogers On Demand Online team is dedicated to continuously improving both user experience and site functionality and has a number of enhanced features on the product roadmap over the next few months. Included in these enhancements are live streaming, user ratings and comments, playlists, recommendation functions, as well as navigation enhancements, upgraded search and a preview channel for non-Rogers subscribers.
