Celebrating International Women’s Day together!
As we continue to build an inclusive culture where all our teams are empowered to bring their whole selves to work, we were proud to celebrate together on International Women’s Day – an important day to recognize and celebrate the inspirational women and allies in our lives! To mark the day, we celebrated with a panel discussion featuring our senior leaders and hosted by Sportsnet’s Danielle Michaud! The event was a true celebration of our diverse teams, including both women and allies, of all backgrounds. We were proud to have Kim Barrington, Chair of our Indigenous Peoples Committee, read a land acknowledgement before the event began. Nyla Ahmad, SVP Enterprise Marketing and Chair of our Inclusion & Diversity Council, kicked off the event by sharing what it means to be a company that works to drive inclusion, and the importance of these events to spread awareness and inspire action. “At Rogers, our goal is to make sure everyone belongs here,” said Nyla Ahmad. “The I&D Council is fully committed to advancing all areas equally. This is just the beginning.” Our panel for the day included Janice Smith, VP Media, Edith Cloutier, VP Quebec & Ottawa region, and Bart Nickerson, VP, Rogers Brand Marketing, and Chair of Spectrum, our LGBTQ+ employee resource group. They discussed who inspires them every day, their own personal battles, what it means to be an ally, and how we can all support each other to build an inclusive culture! Inclusion and diversity is a core part of who we are and it starts with all of us. On International Women’s Day, our teams were inspired to share their stories, take action to build an inclusive culture, and drive an equal future, together.
