Citytv's annual New Year's Eve Bash expands to include first-ever live broadcast from Calgary

– 27th annual fan-favourite telecast grows to four hours; back-to-back
two-hour national telecasts from Toronto and Calgary

– Features live performances by Backstreet Boy Howie D, Anjulie, and
award-winning Canadians Down With Webster –

TORONTO, Nov. 9, 2011 /CNW/ – The biggest New Year’s Eve celebration in
Canada just got even bigger, as Citytv today announced it is adding a
second broadcast location – Calgary – to its annual New Year’s Eve Bash.  The live telecast also increases to four hours, from two, with
big-name celebrities and musicians to ring in 2012 in style.

Joining Citytv Toronto for the 27th annual New Year’s Eve Bash, Citytv Calgary will host a free event and live broadcast from downtown
Calgary at Olympic Plaza with host Jill Belland and Citytv favourites
Tara Slone, Ted Henley and Andrew Schultz.  In Toronto, the free event
and live broadcast will once again take place outdoors at Nathan
Phillips
Square with hosts Gord Martineau and Tracy Moore, alongside Breakfast Television‘s Dina Pugliese and Kevin Frankish.

The December 31 broadcast begins at 10pm ET/CT and 8pm MT/PT on Citytv with a two-hour national broadcast from the Toronto event,
followed by a two-hour national broadcast from the event in Calgary. 
The New Year’s Eve Bash will also be seen at 10pm ET on OMNI.1 and 10:15pm MT/PT on OMNI Alberta and OMNI BC. A live stream of Citytv’s New Year’s Eve Bash is also available online at www.Citytv.com and on the Citytv iPad.

Some of the hottest names in music will be performing at Citytv’s New Year’s Eve Bash.  Live from Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto, big-name acts include
Backstreet Boy singer Howie D and pop sensation Anjulie while the party
continues at Calgary’s Olympic Plaza with award-winning Canadians Down
With Webster. Plus, hear special holiday greetings from some of your
favourite prime time stars.  Additional performances and celebrity
