Édith Cloutier and Nicole McCormick Recognized as 2022 Catalyst Honours Champions

Catalyst is a global non-profit committed to accelerating progress and change for women in the workplace. At their recent annual awards gala, two of Rogers exceptional leaders were recognized as 2022 Catalyst Honours Champions.

Édith Cloutier (Regional President for Quebec and VP, Sales) and Nicole McCormick (Senior Manager of Newsgathering CityNews) received the Role Models for Inclusive Leadership, Workplace Progress for Women award, which was only given to four Canadians this year. The award recognizes corporate leaders who have made transformational contributions to women through workplace inclusion and represents the highest level of inclusive leadership in corporate Canada.

Working in the media industry for over 20 years, Nicole is an established and strong female leader in the CityNews newsroom and plays an instrumental role in Rogers Sports & Media’s ALL IN initiative. As co-chair of the Indigenous Peoples Network (IPN) at Rogers, Nicole advocates for educating and uniting Indigenous and non-Indigenous team members through various events and employee engagement opportunities. Indigenous women of all ages honoured Nicole at the event with a moving traditional song.

In September, Nicole and IPN hosted a smudging ceremony to recognize National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, renaming the Huntley Parkette near Rogers Toronto headquarters as part of the Parkette Legacy Project. Ishkozi Park now has four benches painted by Indigenous artists to reflect Rogers commitment towards truth and reconciliation. One of the benches, named “Allyship in Presence and Action,” represents the support and allyship between all diversity groups.

The mentoring program Édith developed exclusively for Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour employees in Quebec has received great feedback from its participants since launching in 2021. Well over half of the mentees said they received career advancement and development during the program. The four-month pilot program worked with 21 selected mentees to ensure access to career development and growth opportunities at all levels.

Under Edith’s guidance, the pilot program was incredibly successful and a second cohort was launched this year with a third beginning in early 2023. Quebec employees interested in learning more about the program can email ComiteRegionalQC@rci.rogers.com.

At Rogers, our employees are the heart of our success, and we encourage their passion for creating positive change. Congratulations to Edith and Nicole on their well-deserved award.
