Giving back to the future of Canada – How we’re supporting Generation Possible in reaching their potential
The future of Canada lies in the hands of Generation Possible – the leaders of tomorrow being inspired, shaped, and set up for success, today.
As we continue to live the spirit of Giving Tuesday year-round, we recognize the critical role young Canadians play in the future of our communities from coast-to-coast-to-coast.
Today, we’re spotlighting a few of the ways we’re investing in the next generation of changemakers, to create opportunities for our youth to shine and become their best selves with the help of some of our incredible partnerships and organizations.
Shining a light on the power of education with our Ted Rogers Community Grants and Ted Rogers Scholarship
The what: We believe that education makes anything possible but for far too many young Canadians, access to education is limited. Through our Ted Rogers Community Grants and Ted Rogers Scholarships, we’re driving real change and removing barriers that stand in the way of Canadian youth accessing educational opportunities.
The how: Since 2017, we’ve invested over $7 million to support nearly 1,800 Canadian youth pursuing post-secondary through our Ted Rogers Scholarships and enabled more than 300 organizations to deliver youth programs in innovation, entrepreneurship, mentorship and community leadership through our Ted Rogers Community Grants.
The next step: Making real change happen takes 365 days of action, and we’re proud to offer these grants and scholarships on an annual basis and open the door for more youth to access education. Learn more about the impact we’re making through these initiatives, here.
Leveling the playing field for young Canadians in underserved communities with Jays Care
The what: To thrive as leaders, Canadian youth deserve opportunities to develop their passions and team building skills in an environment that fosters their growth. Through our partnership with Jays Care, we’ve enabled youth to explore their potential through the power of baseball and unite communities all across the country.
The how: For the last 10 years, we’ve provided more than $10 million to the Jayscare foundation youth programs, a longstanding partnership which has supported Rookie League and virtual summer camps through a fundraising campaign called “It’s More Than a Game” in partnership with Boys and Girls Clubs, Indigenous organizations and Toronto Community Housing.
Through this funding, we’ve also helped build and refurbish Canadian baseball diamonds as part of the Field Of Dreams program in communities like Foothills in BC and awarded nearly 100 Ted Rogers Scholarships for Jays Care-nominated youth.
This week, Jays Care Foundation and the Toronto Blue Jays announced they’re investing $2.4 million in funding for students, educators and schools across the country, to provide baseball equipment, books, and warm winter clothing for tens of thousands of children and youth across Canada.

How change is possible when we all have the Right to Play:
The what: Right to Play is a global organization working across the world to use sports and play to educate and empower children and youth to overcome the effects of poverty, conflict, and disease in disadvantaged communities, including Indigenous communities through their Youth Leadership Program.
The how: To help support this incredible program, we’ve donated $25,000 towards their Youth Leadership Program, which will help enable healthy life skills development for indigenous children and youth across 70 indigenous communities in Canada.
The next step: It’s thanks to remarkable organizations like Right to Play that Canadian youth will grow to be tomorrow’s leaders. Learn more about Right to Play and how you can get involved today.
