With the federal government’s commitment to match all individual donations up to $10 million until March 18, Rogers is also launching an easy way for Canadians to donate through their phones. All Canadians can donate $5 by texting the word ROGERS to 20222 (EN) or 30333 (FR), or any amount by visiting 100% of the donations will go to the Canadian Red Cross’ relief efforts in Ukraine.

“As the situation in Ukraine continues to unfold, immediate humanitarian relief and the support of the global community is needed now,” said Tony Staffieri, President and CEO, Rogers Communications. “We’re also launching a text-to-donate option as an easy way for our customers to give to the Canadian Red Cross and support those in need in Ukraine.”

To help Canadians stay connected to loved ones, Rogers is also temporarily waiving long-distance and SMS charges to Ukraine, and roaming charges for any Rogers customers currently in the country.

Effective immediately, all long-distance charges will automatically be waived on all mobile, business, home phone calls, and SMS messages to Ukraine for Rogers, Fido and chatr customers.
