Rogers Brings High-Speed Internet to Norfolk County

Today we are proud to share we are bringing our fibre powered high-speed internet network to residents and businesses in Norfolk County in partnership with SWIFT and the governments of Canada and Ontario.

Rogers will build a fibre optic cable network to connect 71 kilometres of underserved roads, servicing over 2,100 homes and businesses in Wilsonville, Boston, Bealton, Dundrun, Waterford, Townsend Centre, Villa Nova, Bloomsburg and several rural roads in these communities that currently have limited access to high-speed internet. Rogers fibre network offers a range of internet packages including gigabit speeds across its cable footprint and will support increased speeds as technology and services evolve.

Construction will start in early 2020, and services will be available beginning in late 2020 through to mid-2021 as part of a phased process. In addition to the $7.6 million joint investment by SWIFT and Rogers, the company will invest an additional $800,000 to cover ineligible project costs. When completed, Rogers customers will have access to the latest broadband technologies and innovative connected home services, including Ignite Internet and Ignite TV, a service that deeply integrates the best content available into one seamless viewing experience with advanced voice technology.

Investments in network technology are critical to Canada’s digital economy. Since 1985, Rogers has invested over $60 billion to build world-class networks in Canada.
