TORONTO, April 15 /CNW/ – Sony Ericsson and Rogers Communications Inc today announced that the highly anticipated Sony Ericsson’s XPERIA™ X10 is now available for sale to Canadians who are eager to take their social networking experience on a wireless device to the next level.

“The XPERIA™ X10 builds on Sony Ericsson’s heritage and brings together the best in communication, social media, and entertainment,” said Andrea Gaal, General Manager, Sony Ericsson Canada. “Canadians have been looking forward to the XPERIA™ X10 and we’re excited that Rogers customers will be among the first in the world to experience this device.”

“Rogers has always been committed to bringing our customers the most innovative handsets on the market, and we know that many of our customers want to use their devices to keep in touch with friends and family using social networking sites,” said John Boynton, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Rogers Communications Inc. “The X10 is an ideal choice for the savvy social networker who wants the sophistication of a high-powered Android smartphone, and for that reason we are proud to be the first carrier in North America to offer it to our customers.”

Allowing customers to socialize with friends and family in a whole new way through new signature applications, Sony Ericsson Timescape™ and Sony Ericsson Mediascape, the XPERIA™ X10 opens up a world of possibilities. order on one screen, leaving you free to concentrate on keeping in
        touch on-the-go. From Facebook™ and Twitter™ updates(2) to
photos, missed calls, emails(2), and SMS messages(6), a 3D scrolling
menu offers easy viewing and organisation of previews, or full views.

on the XPERIA™ X10, is the smart way to get music, photos, videos,
and content from your memory card and online(2), all on one screen.
Smarter still, when listening to a favourite song, press the infinite
button to see related content about that artist, pulled from the
phone's memory, as well as albums, songs and video content from
YouTube™(2) and instant Google search results.(2)

Timescape™ applications with one simple touch.

    - Face Recognition - take photos of your friends with the powerful 8.1
megapixel camera with 16x digital zoom, and tag up to five faces on
the impressive high resolution 4" screen(1). The image is
automatically filed in date order under the friend's name in the
