Supporting Humanitarian Relief in Pakistan and Keeping Customers Connected

Rogers is making a $50,000 donation to support the Canadian Red Cross’s Pakistan Floods Appeal and launching an easy way for Canadians to donate through their phones.  Customers can donate $5 by texting the word ROGERS to 20222 (EN) or 30333 (FR), or any amount by visiting the organization’s online donation site.  100% of the donations will support Canadian Red Cross relief efforts in Pakistan.    

“We at Rogers want to extend our sympathies to those affected by the devastating flooding in Pakistan, and Canadians who are concerned for their loved ones back home,” said Tony Staffieri, President and CEO, Rogers Communications. “We encourage Canadians to join us and the global community in making a donation to the Canadian Red Cross to provide immediate humanitarian relief in Pakistan.” 

Donations will help local organizations provide relief, recovery and resiliency activities in Pakistan in response to this disaster as well as related and future disasters.  

To help Canadians stay connected to loved ones, Rogers is also temporarily waiving long-distance and SMS charges to Pakistan, and roaming charges for any Rogers customers currently in the country.  

All long-distance charges will automatically be waived on all mobile, business, home phone calls, and SMS messages to Pakistan for Rogers, Fido and chatr customers until September 30, 2022.
