Ted Rogers Community Grants – How the Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association is helping immigrant girls make their dreams possible
Making a meaningful impact in our communities is a part of our DNA. That’s why today, we announced that we’re supporting 90 organizations in 40 communities across Canada with Ted Rogers Community Grants to help them continue make a meaningful difference in the lives of thousands of Canadian youth across the country.
One of the organizations we’re proud to support is the Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association (CIWA), a Calgary-based organization that supports immigrant and refugee women, girls and their families with settlement needs, language and employee training, family matters and more.
Receiving a Ted Rogers Community Grant will go towards supporting the CIWA’s mentorship program that aims to eliminate the barriers immigrant girls aged 14 to 21 face to help create that sense of belonging in a new country in new culture. Here’s how they’re helping give immigrant girls the chance they need to succeed, lead and make their dreams possible.
