Asian Heritage Month – How Harnarayan Singh is breaking down barriers and uniting Canadians through the power of hockey   

From a young age, Harnarayan Singh, Play-by-Play Announcer, NHL on Sportsnet, dreamt of becoming a hockey commentator. Yet, far too often, his dreams were met with doubt and criticism as the harsh reality of a lack of South Asian representation in hockey set in.   

Though he recognized the challenges ahead, Harnarayan did not let that stop him from pushing beyond the doubt and pursuing his dreams.

Today, as we continue our celebration of Asian Heritage Month, Harnarayan shares how his determination and passion for hockey has led to his extraordinary career in hockey broadcasting and how he hopes to instill pride for his community and inspire young Canadians across the country to believe in themselves.
