Jennifer Wilson
We sat down with Jennifer Wilson, Change Manager, as part of our monthly series that profiles unique jobs around Rogers. Giving back to the communities where we live and work is an important part of who we are at Rogers, and wanted to learn more about the impact Jennifer has on her local community.
How do you make a difference in the Moncton community?
I help match team members to volunteer opportunities in the Moncton area as part of our Rogers Employee Volunteer Program. I also chair our local Give Together initiative, which enables our team to donate to the non-profit of their choice. It’s rewarding to be able to encourage others on my team to give back to the causes that matter the most to them.
What does community mean to you?
Community means supporting the most vulnerable of our society; ensuring that they get a shot at their own version of success.
Why is it important to get involved in local initiatives?
Getting involved where we live and work is our responsibility as a proud Canadian company. Of course, it’s important to partner with local organizations as they generally have a strong pulse on the needs of the community. Over the past several years, our local charity of choice has been the Greater Moncton and Southeastern New Brunswick United Way. We’ve given around $750K in financial support to over 22 programs that serve our community!
Tell us about the people you work with – what makes them great?
Everything! The people I work with are dedicated and committed to everything they take on – whether it be our customers, their own personal and professional development, or the community. It’s truly awe-inspiring!
What makes you proud to work for Rogers?
I’ve travelled around the world and have worked in several different places; large and small companies, in the public and private sectors. I have never worked for a company that is so dedicated to supporting the communities they serve. Social responsibility is one of our company values and I am so proud of how Rogers lives up to these values every single day.
