Celebrating newcomer youth at NHL All-Star weekend

NHL® All-Star weekend returned to Toronto last week and Rogers rolled out the red carpet for hockey’s brightest stars and the game’s biggest fans. As the proud sponsor of the 2024 Rogers NHL® All-Star Game, we brought our customers and community partners even closer to the action with exclusive fan experiences.

We were pleased to make a $50,000 donation to Hockey 4 Youth Foundation, a charitable organization that provides hockey programming for newcomer and sidelined youth to increase social inclusion. As our charitable partner for the weekend, we invited young newcomers from across Canada to join NHL and PWHL All-Stars on the Rogers NHL® All-Star Red Carpet at the 2024 Hyundai NHL Fan Fair™, to a skate at the hockey for all rink with NHL All-Star Brock Boeser and PWHL stars Laura Stacey and Erin Ambrose, and gave them access to All-Star events.

Navdeep Bains, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer for Rogers, presents a cheque for $50,000 to Hockey 4 Youth Founder Moe Hasham and newcomer youth from across Canada who participated in exclusive experiences as our charitable partner for NHL All-Star Weekend.

Hockey 4 Youth participants from across Canada were introduced to PWHL Star, Marie Philip-Poulin, NHL All-Star, Tom Wilson, and Host of Hockey Night in Canada: Punjabi Edition, Randip Janda.

“To see our newcomer teens, who are learning how to play Canada’s game, walk the same red carpet as the PWHL and NHL stars is a unique opportunity that supports our mission of fostering social inclusion through hockey and our off-ice T.E.A.C.H. program. We had girls and boys from Surrey, Windsor, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and the Northwest Territories of Canada who are representing their countries of origin, including India, Mexico, Lebanon, Sudan, Cameroon, Philippines, South Sudan, Nigeria, Eritrea, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Somalia. We are proud to be partnered with Rogers and appreciate the financial support that will help us bring more inclusive hockey programs to youth and kids across Canada.”
