Over the next few weeks, graduating high school students across Canada will be anxiously awaiting the day where they can put on their cap and gown – from proms to post-secondary acceptances, there are many celebratory moments to come. And for 350 Canadian youth from nearly 140 communities coast-to-coast-to-coast, celebrations came early this evening at a virtual ceremony where they received a Ted Rogers Scholarship.
Deepa Prashad, Entertainment Reporter with KiSS 92.5, was there to surprise these deserving students, recognizing their achievements and their accomplishments in community leadership and volunteerism. Deepa was also joined by Indigenous Educator and Traditional Hoop dancer Notorious Cree, singer-songwriter Anders, and other special guests.
Many of these inspiring young Canadians were nominated by our 18 community partner organizations, including Indspire, QMUNITY, BGC Canada, and Jays Care Foundation, in recognition for all their hard work. Rogers is proud to award Ted Rogers Scholarships to deserving youth to help support their post-secondary studies.
