The numbers are in – Rogers continues to lead in the delivery of blazing fast and reliable internet speeds to our customers.

Today, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) released the results of a study by SamKnows that measured the performance of broadband services offered by major Canadian ISPs (including Rogers) against their advertised download and upload speeds. We’ve been doing this kind of testing with SamKnows for four years, and we’re pleased the Commission followed our lead by requiring testing across the industry.

The tests, conducted in March and April of this year, show that we consistently deliver 100% or more of our advertised speeds, and that the majority of other internet providers are also delivering the speeds they promise. That’s good news for consumers across the country.

It’s a different story when it comes to absolute speed. The study found we achieved an average download speed of 107 Mbps among all tiers included in the study and out of the services tested we clocked the fastest download speed at 254 Mbps. This is four times the top download speed result of our major competitor in Ontario.

Canadians are connecting more devices and using internet more than ever before. By 2020, internet use is expected to grow by 500% and connected devices in the home will nearly double to 20. People want a fast connection they don’t have to worry about. That’s why we’re going even further and making Gigabit service available to all our customers by the end of this year. We’re excited to say we are on track to deliver on this promise, well ahead of our competition.
