Mina Chan recognized for Leadership Excellence by Women in Communications Technology (WCT)

We’re proud to announce that Mina Chan, Director of Technology Development Video in Network Technology and Strategy has received a Women in Communications Technology (WCT) Leadership Excellence Award for being a Technology Innovator. WCT is an association that champions women working in the communications and technology spheres, and helps them advance as leaders in Canada’s digital economy.

Here’s what Mina had to say about the award, diversity at Rogers and her best career advice:

What does this award mean to you?

I am honoured to be a recipient of the Leadership Excellence Award, Technology Innovator. It is deeply gratifying to be recognized by both Rogers and the WCT Committee for my accomplishments in telecommunications over the last 17 years.  I am very grateful.

How has Rogers supported you on your career journey?

Rogers has provided me both career and personal development. The size and diversity of our network and IT teams has given me the chance to continually expand my technical knowledge. I have also benefited from personalized training to develop my leadership style and have had great role models and mentors that have helped me learn and grow in my career.

What’s your best advice to other women looking to grow her career in communications technology?

Always be curious. Always learn new things. Just because we are no longer in school does not mean that we should stop learning.  Passion and intellectual curiosity really help you to make an impact and your career growth will come naturally.
