Raising the bar for women’s beauty and wellness on TSC’s newest show “Beauty Bar”

There’s nothing like unwinding with your friends on a Friday night and celebrating the little things in life. Lucky for us, that’s exactly what Pooja Handa, Co-Host of The Pooja & Gurdeep Show on 98.1 CHFI and Carri Olver, trusted TSC Host, are here to do on TSC’s newest show Beauty Bar!

Beauty Bar is the perfect indulgence for you and your friends to discover the latest hair and beauty trends, products and tips from experts, influencers and industry innovators.

We caught up with this dynamic hosting duo to get the inside scoop on Beauty Bar, airing every Friday starting March 11th at 7pm EST. on TSC.

What are you most looking forward to about hosting TSC Beauty Bar?

Carrie: It’s a moment we can come together and share what women are thinking about. The world of skincare, hair care and overall health and beauty can be overwhelming to navigate. I want to eliminate the noise and answer the questions that women are asking.

Why are you passionate about sharing beauty tips with women?

Pooja: I think we all want to look and feel our best. Once I turned 40, I realized I wasn’t really taking the best care of my skin and I had no idea where to start. I’d get together with girlfriends, and they would share what works for them, and tips and tricks they swear by. I’ve learned a lot over the years, and I’ve also been blessed to be able to work with so many talented makeup artists, that have shared their secrets with me. Sharing is caring!

Why do you think it’s important for women to embrace their beauty?

Carrie: It’s so important to embrace our beauty because we are embracing our confidence. Feeling good about ourselves creates limitless opportunities.

Pooja, you recently sat on an internal panel at Rogers for their International Women’s Day event on empowering women to become their best selves. Tell us about your experience at the event and how you’ll bring some of your learnings from these conversations to TSC Beauty Bar?

Pooja: This year’s theme for International Women’s day is #breakthebias. On TSC Beauty Bar, our very first episode is centered around Women who have been changemakers in the beauty industry and we feature brands that are owned and made by women. These women have had to face many challenges and biases throughout their career. There’s also an opportunity on the show to feature BIPOC owned brands which is important when it comes to representation. It has been lacking in the beauty industry and we hope that by highlighting these brands we can help do our part to help break the bias for a more inclusive and diverse beauty experience.

Carrie, TSC recently celebrated their 35th anniversary and you’ve been a huge part of its success and longevity. What is the most asked beauty question you get from customers?

Carrie: I’ve loved being a part of TSC and the Rogers family for three decades because it’s feels like family!  I feel blessed to engage with so many of our viewers over the years and no matter who and no matter what age every woman asks, “Will this work for me?” We’re all the same.

What can audiences expect from TSC Beauty Bar?

Pooja: TSC Beauty Bar is your destination for all things beauty and gives you a chance to discover beauty and skincare products alongside with us.

Carrie: I love that we have a new celebrity cohost each show.  The first show delivers beauty news from one of Canada’s biggest trendsetters. You’ll have to tune in March 11th to find out who – we can’t give everything away!
