Rogers Expands its Coverage Area to Offer More Canadians Portable Internet from Rogers Yahoo! Hi-Speed Internet


    TORONTO, March 30 /CNW/ - Rogers Cable Communications Inc. announced that
starting tomorrow, Portable Internet from Rogers Yahoo! Hi-Speed Internet will
now be available in more communities in Canada. Rogers has expanded its
coverage area to include more than 100 urban and rural areas.
    It is high-speed Internet with the flexibility to go with the customer.
Portable Internet from Rogers Yahoo! Hi-Speed Internet is designed for people
needing simple, secure and affordable Internet services whether they're
working remotely for extended periods of time, or simply looking for a more
flexible way to access the Internet. Customers can use Portable Internet
anywhere within the coverage area: move it from city to city, around the city
they're in, or move it within their own home or office. Cable or telephone
lines are not required and all a customer needs is a power outlet and they are
able to virtually go online anywhere in the Portable Internet coverage area.

the Internet, so they have the flexibility to go anywhere and still stay

    Portable Internet uses state-of-the-art wireless technology to transmit
signals to and from a specially designed modem on fully licensed and protected
frequencies. It includes up to five email accounts and offers the same
comprehensive suite of services currently available to Rogers Yahoo! Hi-Speed
Internet customers, such as: a suite of protection solutions, including
advanced Norton Anti-Virus software, parental controls, pop-up blocker and
spam control, as well as industry leading online music and photo services.
Customers just connect the Portable Internet modem to their computer, plug it
into a power source and they're ready to go! Portable Internet from Rogers
Yahoo! Hi-Speed Internet is available in two options - one suited to dial-up
users and the other for the small or home office user with download speeds of
up to 1.5 mbps, and 256 kbps upload - up to 25 times faster than dial-up
Internet service.

$24.95 or $49.95/month plus modem purchase of $99.95. As a special
