First Canadian internet provider to introduce latest generation of WiFi, starting in Calgary
More coverage, reliability and speed on Rogers Xfinity, Canada’s most reliable internet
Rogers is the first internet provider in Canada to deliver WiFi 7 – next-generation connectivity bringing better, more reliable WiFi to more devices for the best home internet experience.
The company’s latest technology is available in select areas of Calgary, Alberta. Rogers Xfinity, Canada’s most reliable internet*, will roll out WiFi 7 to the rest of Canada this year.
“Canadians deserve the best connectivity experience, and this is the first in a series of launches this year to bring the latest technology to more Canadians,” said Bret Leech, President, Residential, Rogers. “WiFi 7 delivers more speed, better coverage and better adaptability for an ultra-reliable, ultra-low lag experience.”
In the last five years, internet usage in the home increased by more than 200% and the average Canadian home now has more connected devices than ever before, requiring powerful, secure WiFi connectivity so people can game, stream, work and connect – all at one time.
The launch of the Rogers Xfinity router in Alberta is the company’s most powerful. It is capable of delivering multi-gig symmetrical speeds over WiFi with the ability to connect 200+ devices at one time. The router is available exclusively with Rogers Xfinity’s Pro 4G plan, delivering up to 4 Gbps download and 1 Gbps upload speeds – the fastest available on any Hybrid Fibre Coax (HFC) network – a global first.
