Rogers Xfinity Expands Self Protection to Give Customers More Control of Their Smart Home from Anywhere

Launches Urgent Response to connect customers to local law enforcement through 24/7 support from the Rogers Xfinity app

New plans offer more smart home devices and flexibility so customers can keep an eye on their home from their fingertips

Rogers is launching more smart home devices and features for Rogers Xfinity Self Protection, including new plans with more flexible options.

Customers can now choose additional smart home devices like water sensors and door locks, or a new feature called Urgent Response. When customers are away from home, Urgent Response allows them to contact trained agents who will connect with local law enforcement closest to their home. This helps customers control and protect their homes, 24/7, regardless of where they are – all through the Rogers Xfinity app.

“Our world-class technology platform seamlessly integrates Self Protection devices into the Rogers Xfinity ecosystem, giving customers greater peace of mind and more control over their smart home,” said Bret Leech, President, Residential, Rogers. “The Rogers Xfinity app integrates Self Protection devices and features so customers can easily manage their connected lives while keeping an eye on their homes.”

Unlike other providers, Rogers Xfinity Self Protection plans include 24/7 continuous video recording, available through a range of flexible options such as smart door locks, indoor and outdoor cameras, sensors and more.

New Rogers Xfinity Self Protection plans are available to customers in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba as part of Rogers commitment to the West and will roll out across the rest of Canada later this year. Rogers Xfinity Urgent Response is now available as an add-on feature for customers coast to coast.

Rogers Xfinity Self Protection offers a fully integrated self-monitored smart home experience, bringing security, connectivity and control into one seamless platform. Whether checking a camera feed on the TV, getting real-time alerts on the go, locking the front door remotely, or accessing Urgent Response from across the country, it all works together through the Rogers Xfinity app.
