Today’s Parent Mealtime Integrates Meal Planner, Family-Friendly Recipes, and Shopping List in New App, Available Now

Toronto (June 13, 2017) – Kids need to eat, and parents need to feed them. Every. Single. Day. But most parents struggle with planning, preparation, and shopping. In fact, four out of five Canadian moms admit that they don’t meal plan as much as they’d like, and have only five “go to” family meals in their repertoire. With a single tool for creating customized weekly meal plans from kid-approved recipes and organizing all of it into a shopping-friendly grocery list, the Today’s Parent Mealtime app hopes to solve the ever-present “what’s for dinner?” problem for good. The Today’s Parent Mealtime app is available now for download in the App Store for iOS or Android.
Backed by thousands of best-in-class recipes and videos from Today’s Parent and sister brand Chatelaine, the Today’s Parent Mealtime app makes recipe recommendations based on popular themes and ingredients and helps busy parents plan out the week’s menu. If Tuesday is always taco night, no problem — unlike most meal-planning apps, users can add their own recipes to the Today’s Parent Mealtime app.

And when it’s time to shop, the app automatically generates a grocery list based on the recipes in the menu plan – and for added convenience, users can add other items like paper towels and laundry detergent too. If someone else is the family shopper, users can easily save and share the list.
“More than 25,000 Canadians search for ‘dinner ideas’ each month. Inspiration is great, but to get ‘dinner ideas’ on the table, busy parents need better tools to help them plan and shop. The Today’s Parent Mealtime app helps close those gaps,” said Sasha Emmons, Editor in Chief, Today’s Parent. “With their phone in the palm of their hand, parents can use the app to plan menus and build shopping lists while waiting at swimming lessons, or even in the produce aisle. The only thing easier is take-out.”
Integration opportunities are available in the free, ad-supported app.
