A Hockey Homecoming: Rogers Hometown Hockey Returns to the Road, Starting March 19-21

February 28, 2022 – Following an extended hiatus, the Rogers Hometown Hockey presented by Hyundai and Desjardins festival is once again hitting the road to celebrate the nation’s love of the game in communities across Canada.
The free, family-friendly festival is set to resume in the City of Lloydminster from March 19-21, followed by stops in Grande Prairie, Edmonton and Prince George. Weekend festivities will include hockey-themed activities, local vendors and live entertainment each Saturday and Sunday, followed by a Monday evening community viewing party for the live Rogers Hometown Hockey broadcast hosted by Sportsnet’s Ron MacLean and Tara Slone.
The first return phase of the Rogers Hometown Hockey tour schedule will feature the following communities and Monday night broadcast matchups on Sportsnet:
- March 19-21 – City of Lloydminster | Monday broadcast: Montreal Canadiens @ Boston Bruins
- March 26-28 – Grande Prairie, AB | Monday broadcast: Vancouver Canucks @ St. Louis Blues
- April 1-4 – Edmonton, AB | Toronto Maple Leafs @ Tampa Bay Lightning
- April 9-11 – Prince George, BC | Winnipeg Jets @ Montreal Canadiens
Returning to the road in its re-imagined format, Rogers Hometown Hockey festival protocols will be in compliance with the host community’s provincial health and safety guidelines. Enhanced measures may be implemented for community viewing parties. The Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour shines the national spotlight on communities across Canada this season with a weekend of free outdoor hockey festivities for all ages.
