Citytv Announces New Half-Hour Local Show in Calgary and the Return of CityNews on Weekends in Toronto

TORONTO, Jan. 31 /CNW/ – Citytv announced today the addition of two
local programs to its schedule in Calgary and Toronto.  This Spring,
Citytv in Calgary will broadcast a new half-hour suppertime program in
Calgary and CityNews will return to weekends on Citytv in Toronto.

The new untitled 30-minute show in Calgary will air weekdays Monday to
Friday.  The province-wide search for its new local host created a buzz
in the industry that lead to today’s early announcement about the new
program.

“Due to competitive reasons we can’t reveal too much about the show at
this time, except that it will be hosted by a personality well-known in
Calgary and throughout most of Alberta,” commented Jamie Haggarty,
Executive Vice-President, Television Operations, Rogers Media
Television.  “We identified an opportunity to engage and interact with
Calgarians daily.”

The return of CityNews at six and eleven on weekends in Toronto is another welcomed
announcement for Citytv viewers.  Anchors of the weekend news will be
announced shortly before the program returns to the airwaves in early
March.
