Citytv challenges Canadians' humour in search for new correspondent and launches online audition for witty Canadians
Canadians can enter online to become Citytv's Official Comedy Correspondent
TORONTO, Sept. 14 /CNW/ – To coincide with Citytv’s new Fall comedy line-up, Citytv launches an open casting call to search for a witty Canadian to become the Citytv Official Comedy Correspondent (COCC). Charismatic Canadians with a flair for humour are encouraged to showcase their talent and enter online at www.citytv.com. The Official Comedy Correspondent will provide clever online banter about Citytv’s newest comedies via Citytv.com, Facebook, and Twitter.
“From The Jay Leno Show to Modern Family and How I Met Your Mother, Cougar Town to Community, Citytv has the funniest new comedies on the fall schedule and the online search for the COCC encourages a new dynamic of engagement,” says Koreen Ott, Director of Marketing and PR, Rogers Media Television. “Viewers are asked to tune-in to Citytv to interact with these promising new comedies by sharing comments on hilarious scenes they just watched. Canadians won’t miss a beat!”
Citytv opens up the audition submission process today. Entrants are asked to tune-in to Citytv tonight to start watching Citytv’s hilarious new comedies that premiere over the next two weeks. Then they need to grab their cameras and in less than 60 seconds, highlight the funniest moments of at least two of Citytv’s newest comedies in their own comedic style and upload it to the Citytv Official Comedy Correspondent page on www.citytv.com. Entries will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, October 9th, 2009.
After a judging process by Citytv, the winner will be announced online at www.citytv.com on Monday, October 19th, 2009. The COCC will be tasked with telling Canadians what they found hilarious, witty, and genuinely side-splitting about Citytv’s newest comedy line-up each week. Not only will the winner become Citytv’s first Official Comedy Correspondent, they’ll also win a trip to a live taping of The Jay Leno Show in Los Angeles, California to watch the legendary laughter in action!
Citytv’s new fall shows include The Jay Leno Show, the popular sitcom How I Met Your Mother the highly-anticipated comedy Cougar Town starring Courteney Cox, one of the most buzzed about new comedies, Modern Family, the smart new comedy, Community starring Chevy Chase and Joel McHale and Accidentally On Purpose starring Jenna Elfman.
