Donated phone plans extended to the end of 2021 for more than 400 organizations

Through COVID-19 third waves and lockdowns, organizations across the country continue to pivot programs and find new ways to ensure vulnerable Canadians have safe access to resources and critical supports.  For many organizations supporting our communities, this means an increased reliance on technology and virtual programs.

For more than a year, Rogers has helped enable safe connectivity by donating thousands of devices and wireless plans to more than 400 organizations across Canada, including women’s shelters and transition houses, youth and LGBTQ2S+ organizations providing virtual mentoring, hospitals, seniors’ homes, and homeless shelters.  In those early days of the pandemic, Rogers offered six months of service, then as second waves and lockdowns continued, we extended our program as digital lifelines to ensure these vulnerable Canadians could stay connected to what matters most. The phone donation program is provided in collaboration with Motorola and LG.  

As vaccines roll out and we move into spring and summer, there is a feeling of hope – but we’re not there yet.  To help further bridge the digital divide for Canadians who continue to experience a need, Rogers is now extending free voice and data plans on thousands of donated devices to the end of 2021.  So we can stay connected and move towards recovery, together.
