Packed with prizes, games, mobile offers and cute canines in support of
Canadian charities
TORONTO, April 12, 2012 /CNW/ – Today, Fido kicked off the FidoCARES
national road trip across Canada with its pack of partners who are all
actively involved in enriching lives through dogs and the environment.
The FidoCARES tour continues to support four community partners
including Evergreen, Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, St. John
Ambulance Therapy Dog Program and the Canadian Federation of Humane
Societies.
“We’re very excited to be hitting the road to visit our Fido fans and
dog lovers in local communities across the country on our FidoCARES
tour,” said Steven Sarfin, Senior Director, Marketing, Fido. “We’re
very proud of our community partners and for the support they provide
Canadians. This tour will help us showcase these charities, how we
support them and encourage Canadians to offer their own time to make a
difference in their communities.”
The FidoCARES tour kicks off at Yonge and Dundas Square in Toronto, Ont.
on April 12, 2012 and will continue throughout 2012 to visit
communities in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Winnipeg,
Ontario and Montréal.
Additionally, in support of the environment and Evergreen, the national
charity that brings nature to cities across the country, Fido is
launching a Fido Earth Month Countdown contest. From April 9th to April 24th Fido is giving participants a chance to win a Toyota Prius c and 11
earth month prizes which will be revealed every weekday. Participants
can enter the contest by registering at www.Fidocountdown.ca.
For every entry, Fido will donate $1 to Evergreen, up to $100,000 to be
shared amongst 10 of the organization’s local environmental community
projects supported through this partnership including the Don Valley
Tree Planting Event in Toronto, Ont., Growing Chefs Classroom Gardening
Program in Vancouver, B.C. and Santropol Roulant’s Urban Rural Farm
Exchange in Montréal, Que.
