My name is Nicholas, and an interesting fact about me is that I have been computer programming since I was nine years old!
Where do you volunteer – what’s your favourite thing about what you do?
I volunteer with Challenger Baseball in Burlington, ON. At Challenger, I act as a “buddy” where I help children with special needs play baseball. My favourite part about volunteering at Challenger is having the opportunity to share my love for the game with others, and seeing the pure joy and excitement on the athletes’ faces each week.
Why was receiving a Ted Rogers Scholarship special?
Receiving a Ted Rogers Scholarship was special to me as it is a huge honour to be recognized for the contributions I have made in my school, my community and in my time with Challenger Baseball.
Where do you plan on going to school and what will you study?
I plan on attending McMaster University to study Engineering. I hope to specialize in Computer Engineering after my first year.
What are your long-term goals?
In the future, I hope to have a successful career that will allow me to travel, meet new people and exercise life-long learning. I will also make it a priority to give back to my community through volunteering.
