Investing in communities across Canada with Rogers™ NHL® Street Nets.
To commemorate 60 years of connecting Canadians to the memorable moments that matter most in their lives, we are looking forward with our 25,000 team members and working toward one common goal: to create a better Canada.
The 60 Project was introduced as a year-long celebration of all the ways the Rogers team is giving back in our 60th year – from donations of time, money, fundraising support, workforce investments and keeping Canadians connected with our networks. As we mark our 60th birthday, we know the best gift is the one you give, not receive.
This is why Rogers teamed up with the NHL to jointly invest over $300,000 in communities across Canada during the 2019-20 NHL season. Together, Rogers and the NHL delivered a first-of-its-kind multi-sport playground structure, which enhances public spaces and provides opportunities for youth and adults to play ball hockey, basketball, street soccer and more. Introduced during a Rogers Hometown Hockey stop in Red Deer, Alberta, the net provides a new level of access to experience the game of hockey in both urban and rural neighborhoods, and is now featured in 11 communities (and counting!).
Rogers and the NHL believe that Rogers NHL Street Nets unlock the opportunity for more kids to play the sports they love, closer to home, while promoting healthy and active lifestyles. The initiative also aligns with Hockey’s Declaration of Principles (thisishockey.org), specifically the objectives to promote multi-sport participation and alternative forms of the game. The gift of providing access to more of the games that bring Canadians together is invaluable and empowers communities from coast-to-coast-to-coast to make more possible.
Bringing communities together through sport.
One of the ways Rogers is helping to make a better Canada possible.
