To celebrate Earth Day, Rogers and Fido in partnership with Tree Canada will plant a tree for every customer who switches from paper billing to e-billing between April 10 and May 31 via their MyRogers or Fido My Account.
In addition to being environmentally friendly, e-billing provides customers with extra benefits including the ability to access bills anywhere via mobile device/laptop, ability to check full usage details (talk, text & data), as well managing account settings and receiving emails when their bill is ready.
Since 2011, Rogers has stepped up its efforts to help the environment by switching customers to e-billing, saving more than 747 tonnes of paper. On top of this, Fido has saved more than 141 tonnes of paper via e-billing conversions and other eco-friendly initiatives.
On top of this, Rogers has been named one of Canada’s Greenest Employers for the last five years. Here are a few reasons why:
- We reduced our annual greenhouse gas emissions by 3.8% in 2015 from 2014.
- By 2025 we aim to reduce our energy usage by 10% and greenhouse gas emissions by 25%, based on a 2011 established benchmark.
- In 2015, we replaced 263 vehicles in the Rogers fleet for more efficient models. The upgrade resulted in a reduction of fuel consumption by 29,212 litres of gas, and reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 67 tonnes.
- In 2015, we reduced our total paper consumption in our work spaces by 21.3% from 2014.
