On-Air Host Changes at Citytv Edmonton

TORONTO, Oct. 10 /CNW/ - Citytv Edmonton is pleased to announce the
appointment of veteran broadcast journalist Rob Hislop to his new role as host
of the popular supper-hour, magazine-style program "Your City". Viewers can
catch Rob in action weeknights at 6pm MT with encore presentations at 11pm MT.
Rob Hislop has been a familiar face in the broadcast community and has
been an active member of the Citytv Edmonton family since 2001 both as news
anchor and co-host of "BreakfastTelevision" along with Wendy Sandwith.
"We are delighted to see Rob take on a well-deserved leadership role in
refining Your City and making it a program more Edmontonians will view as
'appointment' television", says Paul Mennier, the outgoing host and Manager of
the Local Content Group. Following 25 years of on-air anchoring Mennier is
stepping down from on-air duties to concentrate on management.
Rob passes the "BreakfastTelevision" co-anchor chair to Ryan Jespersen
who joined Citytv in 2005 and has taken on various on-air roles including
videographer and "Your City" remote-host.
"Ryan possesses such a positive energy and a fantastic sense of humour,
which makes him a natural choice for co-host of BT" says Interim General
Manager Richard Hiron.
Rounding out the BT team are co-host Wendy Sandwith, remote-host Bridget
Ryan, weather/traffic specialist Michele McDougall and news anchor Asha
Tomlinson. This energetic and candid morning team help get Edmontonians "up
and at 'em" weekday mornings from 6am to 10am with a steady flow of news,
weather, sports, traffic, interesting guests and community events.
