Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling Slides into Winnipeg for the Princess Auto Elite 10, March 15-18

TORONTO (March 8, 2017) Starting next week, Winnipeg will be home to the world’s best men’s curlers as the Princess Auto Elite 10  – the fifth event of the 2017-18 Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling season – rolls into town from March 15-18. Sportsnet’s live coverage of the Princess Auto Elite 10 kicks off Thursday, March 15 at 1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT on Sportsnet and Sportsnet NOW (full broadcast details below).

Taking over the St. James Civic Centre in Winnipeg, the Princess Auto Elite 10 features the top 10 men’s teams from around the world, including PyeongChang 2018 gold-medallist Team Shuster (Duluth, USA) and Canada’s Olympic team Team Koe (Calgary). Winnipeg’s own Team Carruthers, Team Gunnlaugson and Team McEwen will also be part of the world-class action. The participating teams will compete in a unique match play format during the round robin-style bonspiel, contending for a $100,000 purse and a berth in the Humpty’s Champions Cup, the final Grand Slam event of the season.

Returning for another must-watch Grand Slam event, Sportsnet’s expert curling commentators will be at the heart of the action in Winnipeg. Veteran broadcaster Rob Faulds will have the play-by-play call while 2010 Olympic gold medallist Kevin Martin, 1998 Olympic silver medallist Mike Harris and 1998 Olympic gold medallist Joan McCusker provide insight and analysis throughout the bonspiel.

Owned and operated by Sportsnet since 2012, the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling is an elite series of men’s and women’s curling events which are part of the World Curling Tour and feature the best teams from across Canada and around the world.
