    HALIFAX, July 30 /CNW/ - Rogers Wireless announced today a two-year,
premier title sponsorship agreement with the Halifax Rainmen. The sponsorship
agreement will enable Rogers to support the Rainmen's community involvement at
schools, basketball camps and store locations in addition to game execution
opportunities including Rogers contesting, Rogers Zone and brand recognition
resulting in more excitement at home games for fans and players of the Premier
Basketball League.
"We're so pleased to have this dynamic opportunity and to have the
support of these great players and the Halifax community." said Susan Gordon,
Vice President, National/Regional Marketing, Rogers Wireless. "Rogers is
committed to providing customers with access to things that matter most to
them and as title sponsor of the Halifax Rainmen we have the opportunity to
improve the circumstances for some local youth and create a fun fan
experience. The next two years will be very exciting for Rainmen supporters as
the team climbs to new heights and we are pleased to be a part of it."
The announcement was made at the 2009 Rainmen Summer Skills Camp where
area youth develop their skills with Rainmen coaching staff and player Eric
Crookshank. Rogers sponsored eight youth from the St. Andrews Community Centre
in Halifax to participate in the camp.
"Rogers continues to display its commitment to sport in Halifax and the
Rainmen organization," said Andre Levingston, owner, Halifax Rainmen. "Our
corporate partners are essential to the operation of our team and we are proud
to have Rogers as our premier title sponsor."
Through this partnership, Rogers hopes to help the team to continue the
great work they are doing in the community, attract key talent and strive for
their first Premier Basketball League championship.
