Rogers expands Connected for Success Program

Rogers recently announced that we are expanding both the eligibility and service offerings available for the Connected for Success program. This high-speed, low-cost Internet program aimed at helping low-income Canadians connect was launched by Rogers in 2013, a first of its kind in Canada. The program now offers plans starting at $9.99 a month for 25Mbps download 5Mbps upload, up to $34.99 a month for 150Mbps download 15Mbps upload.

This newly announced expansion builds off of an initial program partnership with Toronto Community Housing, a second program expansion in 2016 to include all Ontarians, New Brunswickers, and Newfoundlanders in Rent-Geared-to-Income housing, and a further expansion in 2018 to include those receiving the Maximum Child Care Benefit through the Government’s Connecting Families program.

Now, the program is also accepting qualifying customers receiving income support through a variety of additional programs in the three provinces where the program already exists:

  • Ontario Works
  • Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP)
  • The Social Assistance Program in New Brunswick
  • Disability Support Program in New Brunswick
  • Income and disability benefits through Income Support in Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Seniors receiving the Guaranteed Income Supplement in all three provinces

To support evolving connectivity needs, additional, faster-speed offerings are available to those accessing the program. The expansion of this program, which we estimate will add around 750,000 new eligible households, supports the federal government’s plan to provide faster Internet to all Canadians. It is one of the many ways Rogers is helping ensure that no Canadian is left behind in accessing affordable Internet options.

We also recently announced, as part of the Rogers-Shaw merger, our commitment to expand the Connected for Success program nationally to reach every Canadian where the combined company offers Internet services.

Rogers is proud to play a role in bridging the digital divide to ensure more people and families stay connected to the things that matter most.
