WINNIPEG, Manitoba – January 30, 2018 – Rogers continues to invest in communities and businesses across Manitoba with new wireless service in Sage Creek, one of Winnipeg’s fastest growing areas. Rogers worked with the Sage Creek Residents’ Association and local political leaders to build the new cellular tower, which was welcomed by local residents and businesses in the area.

“We were pleased to work with the residents and businesses of Sage Creek, with the support of the municipality, to provide new and improved wireless service so that our Sage Creek customers can make and share more memorable moments with an improved network experience,” said Colin Bartlett, Director Prairies Region, Rogers Communications. “As communities and businesses across the province keep growing, we’re going to continue to improve service across Manitoba.”

“It’s a great feeling and excellent news for the residents of Sage Creek, to now have cellular service in our community,” said Frank Capasso, President of the Sage Creek Residents’ Association. “Many residents don’t have landlines and depend on wireless coverage. Rogers has made our dream a reality, allowing us to make calls, including to emergency services if necessary.”

Now, Rogers and Fido customers in Sage Creek will experience an improved wireless service so that they can connect to the things that matter to them. Business customers can also better tap into solutions like Rogers Unison to stay connected with their employees and customers, and improved mobile broadband will help them take advantage of features like clearer HD video calls.

“I support improved cellular service in our community and am very excited to see progress on this front,” Andrew Smith, MLA for Southdale. “I will continue to work with my constituents and other partners for improved wireless service in our communities.”

“It was a collaborative effort between Rogers, Qualico and Sage Creek residents to make this happen,” said Matt Allard, City Councillor for St. Boniface. “I wish to thank the City of Winnipeg planning department for their work and flexibility in adapting our cellular tower policy to the needs of the neighbourhood.”

This investment is one of several new Rogers wireless improvements which include updates in downtown Winnipeg as well as making LTE-Advance available across Manitoba.
