Rogers first to launch LTE network in St. John's today

Rogers announces two new exclusive LTE devices, including Canada’s first
LTE Windows Phone

TORONTO, Feb. 27, 2012 /CNW/ – Rogers Communications announced today
that its LTE network is now live in St. John’s, making Rogers the first
carrier to bring the fastest wireless speeds in Canada to
Newfoundlanders.

“We are proud to be the first carrier to bring our LTE network to St.
John’s
,” said John Boynton, Rogers Executive Vice President and Chief
Marketing Officer. “With Rogers LTE wireless network coverage,
customers have access to speeds similar to broadband connections,
making it easier for people to use their mobile devices to download
apps, stream HD videos and music or play on-line games, with virtually
no delays or buffering.”

Rogers was the first to launch an LTE network in Canada, starting in
Ottawa last summer, followed by Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver last
fall. Today, Rogers LTE network is the largest in Canada, offering LTE
to 11 million Canadians with plans to double its coverage this year.
Rogers will expand its LTE network to more than 25 cities in 2012,
including in Atlantic Canada. Halifax and surrounding areas can expect
to get LTE in the next few months.

Rogers was also the first Canadian carrier to launch LTE devices. Today,
Rogers added to its lineup of LTE devices with the exclusive LTE
smartphones, the Nokia Lumia 900 and the HTC One X.

The Nokia Lumia 900 is the first Windows Phone LTE smartphone. The Nokia
Lumia 900 features a 4.3″ AMOLED screen, 1.4 GHz processor, a 1
megapixel front- facing camera for video calling and Nokia’s exclusive
Carl Zeiss 8MP back-camera. The HTC One X will be the first smartphone
in Canada designed with Beats Audio for an incredible audio experience.
It also includes a dual-core 1.5Ghz processor, the Android 4.0 software
(Ice Cream Sandwich), HTC Sense 4.0 and a new camera. Both devices will
be available this spring. For more information, visit Rogers RedBoard.

of innovative firsts and our commitment to investing in Canada’s
digital future. Rogers was the first carrier in North America to launch
an HSPA+ network and offers Canada’s only coast-to-coast GSM network.
