TORONTO, Nov. 15 /CNW/ – Rogers Media today announced the exclusive
Canadian premiere of Pretty Tough.  This is the latest series to be added to the multi-screen
initiative, Shorts in the City presented by Nissan. A total of 20 episodes will be released over the coming weeks at and Rogers on Demand Online. The series will also be
featured on the Shorts in the City free iPad app. On the free iPhone
app, the series is exclusively available to Rogers and Fido customers.

Set in the posh, picturesque world of Malibu, California, Pretty Tough is the story of two teenage sisters on opposite ends of the popularity
spectrum. At this privileged high school, against the backdrop of
high-end lifestyles and higher expectations, their tumultuous
relationship faces the ultimate test when they’re forced to play
together on the soccer field. The series is based on the popular young
adult novel by author Liz Tigelaar. Tigelaar also writes television
dramas; her TV credits include Dawson’s Creek, American Dreams, What About Brian and Brothers & Sisters.

Pretty Tough was directed by Stewart Hendler (Summit Entertainment’s Sorority Row) and produced by Jetpack Media Inc. in collaboration with Vuguru,
Michael Eisner’s independent studio in which Rogers is an investor.¬†
Many other Vuguru titles are currently available as part of Shorts in The City, including: The Booth at the End; the Prom Queen trilogy; Sam Has 7 Friends; Back on Topps; Foreign Body; and The All-For-Nots.
