Rogers Radio Launches SONiC; Top 40 Hits Super-Serving Listeners in Chilliwack, Abbotsford, and Vancouver

– Playing 10,000 songs commercial free to kick off new radio station –

CHILLIWACK, BC, Aug. 17, 2011 /CNW/ – Rogers Radio introduces listeners
to an exciting new radio station with the launch of SONiC at 107.5 Chilliwack, 92.5 Abbotsford, and 104.9 Vancouver. The Top 40
station hit the airwaves today at 8:35 a.m. PTSONiC can also be heard online and through mobile devices at sonicnation.ca.

SONiC launched today with a pledge to play 10,000 songs in a row with no
commercial interruption.  The station will feature artists such as Katy
Perry
, LMFAO, David Guetta, Marianas Trench, Lady Gaga, Lil Wayne,
Drake, Eric Solomon, Black Eyed Peas, Pitbull, Ke$ha, Down With
Webster, and Chilliwack’s These Kids Wear Crowns, among others.

“SONiC speaks to a younger audience and represents a commitment to the
next generation of listeners who will help grow the future of radio in
our markets,” said Geoff Poulton, Vice-President and General Manager,
Rogers Radio, British Columbia.  “There is a huge appetite for new
music, and this format will better serve listeners in our communities.”
