Internet service is now available in select areas of the Greater Toronto Area
for $149.99 a month, with respective download and upload speeds of up to
50Mbps and up to 2Mbps and a monthly usage allowance of 175GB. This service
will be rolled out further in the coming months and is the fastest residential

This new service follows Rogers Cable's launch last month of the fastest
wireless home networking device available in North America, the DOCSIS 3.0 N
gateway. By subscribing to the 50Mbps Internet service combined with the N
gateway, customers will experience the ultimate in high-speed Internet service
and capacity for their work and play. This exciting and innovative new service
combination - available only from Rogers -- allows multiple computing devices
to be easily and quickly connected anywhere in the house with superior speed,

leading edge speeds to our customers, making it an ideal service for gamers
and multimedia enthusiasts alike," said Chris Draper, Vice President of
Product Management, Rogers Cable. "Innovation is at the core of Rogers
products and services, and with the Ultimate 50Mbps Internet tier, our
superior network and speed ensures customers continue to enjoy the ultimate
Internet experience."
"DOCSIS 3 is a critical last-mile technology that allows cable companies
to more than double their Internet speeds and to compete with fibre-optic
delivery systems," said Lawrence Surtees, vice-president of communications
research at IDC Canada Ltd. of Toronto. "Customers will also benefit from the
deployment of DOCSIS 3.0 because it enables Rogers Cable to enhance the
allowances of their Internet service tiers for no extra charge to customers."
Rogers is committed to delivering customers with the fastest, most
reliable Internet service enabled by a network investment in excess of
$1billion over the past ten years (1). Also as a result of this investment and
in conjunction with the launch of the Ultimate service, Rogers will also be
boosting the download speed for its Extreme Plus tier of service to 25Mbps
from 18Mbps with an increased usage allowance of 125GB per month at no extra
charge to residential customers effective August 17, 2009. (2) For more
