Rogers Rings in Another Canadian First with New Wireless Home and Business Phone Service

Specially designed affordable home and small business phone alternative
to deliver more value and choice for customers outside of the Rogers
Home Phone territory

Innovative new Home Phone solution powered by national Rogers wireless
network

TORONTO, July 23, 2013 /CNW/ – Rogers Communications, today announced it
will be the first Canadian carrier to offer a low-cost, wireless home
and small business phone solution that operates on the national Rogers
wireless network. Launching today, the Rogers Wireless Home Phone
service for consumers and the Rogers Wireless Business Phone for small
businesses will be available in regions across Canada where Rogers home
and small business landline services are not offered.

Starting at the introductory low pricing of $9.99 per month for new and
existing Rogers wireless customers, the Rogers Wireless Home Phone
service offers a traditional home or office phone service using
existing fixed line telephones without the need for a landline or
internet connection. Customers simply need to purchase the Wireless
Home Phone device, which is an electrically powered adapter with an
active SIM card, plug an existing cordless or corded phone into that
device and begin making calls over the Rogers wireless network. The
service is a flexible solution for customers, allowing them to keep
their current phone number and effortlessly move the service to any
residence or office where the national Rogers wireless network is
available.

“This new service demonstrates how we continue to leverage investments
made in our national wireless network to deliver innovative services
that provide value to Canadians,” said John Boynton, executive
vice-president and chief marketing officer, Rogers Communications. “Our
growing wireless base is always looking for what’s next in mobile
technology, and now customers outside of our home phone territory will
be the first to access an affordable, wireless home phone service.”

The Wireless Home Phone device is available for a one-time fee of $29.99
at local Rogers retail locations in regions where Rogers landline
services are not offered. Rogers Wireless Home Phone is available with
no-term commitment, starting at the introductory price of $9.99 per
month for Rogers wireless consumer and wireless small business
customers, and $24.99 per month for non-Rogers wireless customers. The
service includes unlimited Canada-wide calling, voicemail, and caller
ID. Customers can also subscribe to additional value-added services
including call waiting, conference calling, call forwarding, and
international long distance packages.
