The One Stop Smartphone Shop: Rogers Launches New In-store Expert Device Repair Service

Canadians will be able to get their devices repaired within hours by a leading and trusted manufacturer-approved phone repairer

TORONTO (October 1, 2020) – Rogers announced today that it will begin offering smartphone repair services at select Rogers retail locations. In partnership with Brightstar, Rogers will bring WeFix smartphone repair services to select Rogers stores across the GTA starting today. The addition of this in-house repair service provides customers with a one stop destination for all of their mobile device service needs.

“Now more than ever, Canadians rely on their smartphones to stay connected, and as customers look to keep their devices longer, the need for fast, trusted and easily accessible repair services is so important,” said Brent Johnston, President, Wireless, Rogers Communications. “With this service, Canadians can get their smartphones repaired by an expert at one of our Rogers stores, within hours, and have it backed by a 90-day guarantee whether they want to keep it for themselves or to hand it down to a friend or family member.”

With the new service, customers will be able to have a variety of smartphone issues fixed, including problems with batteries, broken screens, cameras, audio, software, and more, within hours. Customers can also keep track of their repair every step of the way with real-time notifications and online tracking.

Today’s announcement builds on other customer first initiatives Rogers has launched over the past 18 months to deliver a better experience and make staying connected easy and affordable for Canadians, including:

  • Rogers Infinite plans, which gives customers unlimited data from 10GB of max speed data (reduced speeds thereafter) with no overages;
  • Apple Music free for their first six months when signing up, available with select Rogers Infinite plans;
  • Accessory financing, giving customers the ability to finance headphones, smart speakers, smart watches and more; and
  • Rogers Pro On-the-Go service, which brings the store to the customer’s door as soon as the same day.

The program is launching first in 11 Rogers stores across the GTA, including in Toronto, Brampton, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham and Oshawa, and expanding in the coming weeks to additional Rogers locations in the GTA. In 2021, the program will expand to stores across the country, bringing this speedy and trusted repair service to even more Canadians.

In April, 2020, Brightstar, the world’s leading provider of end-to-end device lifecycle management solutions, acquired WeFix, a UK-founded, manufacturer-approved smartphone repair company. With WeFix walk-in repair services in select Rogers stores, smartphone customers, regardless of their mobile provider, can get their phone repaired, by an expert, within hours, and all repairs are backed by a 90-day guarantee
