President and Chief Executive Officer

Joe Natale joined Rogers as President and Chief Executive Officer in 2017.

Prior to joining Rogers, Joe was President and CEO at TELUS Corporation. He first joined Telus in 2003, holding a number of senior positions including President of Enterprise Solutions, President of Consumer Solutions and Chief Commercial Officer. Prior to 2003, Joe was a partner at KPMG and held successive senior leadership roles within KPMG Consulting. He joined KPMG after it acquired the company he co-founded, PNO Management Consultants Inc., in 1997. As a consultant, Joe specialized in strategy and business transformation services.

He currently sits on the Board of Directors at The Hospital for Sick Children and Soulpepper Theatre Co. He is a past recipient of Canada’s Top 40 under 40 Award.

A passionate, strategically-minded customer-first executive, Joe has a proven track record in a highly competitive and dynamic environment.

Joe holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. He lives in Toronto with his wife and children.

President, Media

As President of Rogers Media, Jordan Banks is responsible for the current $2 billion business and approximately 4,000 employees across Canada from a variety of sports and media properties, consisting of 23 conventional and specialty TV channels including Sportsnet, 29 local TV stations, 56 radio stations, 3 OTT services, 2 podcast networks, The Shopping Channel, a multiplatform content studio, and data offerings.

With deep strategic insights in the digital space and global content experience, Banks is uniquely positioned to lead the next chapter of Rogers Media and its cross-channel consumer experience.  A highly respected business leader, Banks was named one of Canada’s 50 Most Powerful Business People by Canadian Business magazine, one of the 25 Most Influential Innovators in Canada by Financial Post magazine, as well as being named one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40.

Prior to joining Rogers Media, Banks was the former Managing Director of Facebook & Instagram Canada, leading all domestic commercial operations, while also serving for a period of time as Facebook’s Global Head of Vertical Strategy.

Banks’s previous roles include CEO at JumpTV, Managing Director of eBay Canada, and working as an executive at the National Hockey League Players’ Association in their international business and licensing group.  Banks also practiced corporate law at Goodmans LLP, and was the co-founder of Thunder Road Capital where he provided investment and advisory services to tech companies.

Banks sits on the Board of Directors for SickKids Foundation, the Canadian Children’s Literacy Foundation, and Cineplex Inc., and has spent the past two decades tirelessly raising money and awareness for Alzheimer’s research and care.

Chief Digital Officer

Lisa Durocher joined Rogers as Senior Vice President of Digital on August 29, 2016, and was appointed Chief Digital Officer on June 20, 2017. She is responsible for the company’s digital strategy, design, planning and development for all digital platforms across consumer and enterprise.

Lisa comes from American Express in New York City where she held several senior leadership positions, most recently SVP of Charge and Benefits. Under Lisa’s leadership, American Express redesigned its digital membership rewards program and customer experience, which included establishing innovative payments arrangements with companies like Amazon and Uber. She previously worked at Procter and Gamble, and technology consulting practices.

A digital thought leader, Lisa brings more than 25 years of experience and a strong track record in scaling product and channel operations, and building high performing teams.

Originally from Sarnia, Ont., Lisa is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University’s Business Administration program.

Chief Technology Officer

Jorge Fernandes joined Rogers as Chief Technology Officer in February, 2018. Jorge is responsible for technology across Rogers, leading the strategy, planning, development and operations of the Rogers wireless and wireline networks and IT systems.

With senior executive leadership experience in the UK, Portugal and Turkey, Jorge brings a strong international perspective to Rogers. Prior to joining, Jorge was Chief Technology Officer at Vodafone, U.K., one of its largest operating companies. He oversaw the IT and Network transformation, leading a team of 4,000 employees delivering wireless, voice, internet and home broadband services to 19 million customers. He also led a Managed Services organization that designs and delivers customized unified communications to the U.K.’s largest enterprise, public and energy sector clients. Prior to that, Jorge was Chief Technology Officer for Vodafone’s operating companies in Portugal and Turkey, where he led end-to-end technology services.

During his 15-year career at Vodafone, Jorge has gained deep experience in mobile, residential and enterprise services. In both Portugal and the U.K., he oversaw the development and launch of converged technologies including fibre to the home and IPTV. He also delivered the first Mediaroom IPTV service and Fibre to the Home solution for Vodafone in Portugal. He has led the 5G technology strategy for Vodafone in the U.K.

Jorge started his career as an engineer working for South African companies before joining Cisco, where he worked on network implementation programs for the world’s largest operators. Jorge holds a Licentiate degree in Economics and Business Management from Autonomous University of Lisbon and he completed the Católica Lisbon/Kellogg School of Management Advanced Management Program.

President, Connected Home

As President, Connected Home, Phil Hartling is responsible for the company’s Consumer residential business, including strategy, product management and development, marketing, customer experience, call centre operations, installation and repair, pricing and customer base management.

As a seasoned telecom executive, Phil brings 25 years of deep industry experience in both cable and wireless across a variety of functions, including marketing sales, customer service, provisioning, credit ops and corporate affairs.

Phil has been with Rogers for more than 12 years in various leadership roles in both operational and strategic functions. He has a strong track record of delivering profitable growth in the business, instilling operational discipline, and building high performing teams. Most recently, Phil led the Consumer business as Interim President. Prior to that, Phil oversaw the Commercial Strategy division as Senior Vice President, accountable for driving success in value management, pricing, and customer investment covering all Rogers, Fido and chatr products.

Phil holds a Commerce degree and a Masters of Public Administration from Dalhousie University. Phil and his partner, Kathy live in Schomberg with their many dogs and horses.

President, Wireless

Brent joined Rogers as President, Wireless, on June 11, 2018, with responsibility for leading the company’s Consumer wireless business. Brent is a strategic, team-oriented and results-driven leader with a track record of innovation and success in the Canadian business world.

Prior to Rogers, Brent was Senior Managing Director for Apple Canada, responsible for all product lines across the Carrier, Enterprise, Education and National Retail Channels.

Brent was at TELUS for eleven years before Apple, holding various senior management roles within the Consumer Business unit, most recently as Senior Vice-President, Consumer Marketing, where he led all aspects of marketing including pricing, go-to-market strategy/execution, and overseeing the full range of products and services for both the wireless and wireline businesses.

Brent has held several management positions with companies including Barrick Gold, and McKinsey & Company. Brent holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Princeton University, and a Masters Degree in Engineering from Stanford.

Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer

Graeme McPhail oversees legal, regulatory and government relations at Rogers.

A trusted advisor, Graeme has a breadth of experience in telecommunications, specializing in complex transactions, joint ventures and litigation management. He has played a key role in many acquisitions and strategic negotiations over the years.

Graeme joined Rogers in 1991 as Legal Counsel and the company’s second lawyer ever. Prior to joining Rogers, he was an Associate at WeirFoulds in Toronto for four years.

Graeme holds a Bachelor of Economics from Carleton University and Law degree from University of Windsor. He was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1986. He sits on the Board of Directors of Glentel.

An outdoor lover, Graeme has climbed Kilimanjaro and has been whitewater canoeing in the Northwest Territories. He is an avid cyclist, hockey and tennis player, golfer and curler.

President, Enterprise

Dean Prevost joined Rogers as President of the Enterprise business in September, 2017. He is responsible for delivering Wireless, Wireline and Data Centre products and solutions to small, medium, large and public sector businesses across Canada. 

An industry veteran, Dean spent 17 years at AT&T/MTS Allstream in nearly every senior executive position, including five years as President. While he was President of the Enterprise Solutions Division, Dean rebuilt the customer experience journey and focused on a long-term growth strategy for the company. Dean is a well-respected executive with deep experience in technology and telecom, and a proven track record of delivering operating results in Enterprise.

Dean came to Rogers from a Birch Hill private equity company, Hi-Pro Feeds, where he was CEO for three years, and left after the successful sale to an industry player. Prior to telecom, he worked with a variety of companies driving growth and expansion as a strategy consultant with Monitor Company.  

Dean volunteers his time on the board for JUMP Math, a charitable organization that helps children love and succeed at math, and previously YMCA of Greater Toronto. He holds a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard and a Bachelor of Commerce with distinction, from the University of Calgary.  Dean and his family currently live in Calgary and plan to relocate to Toronto over time.

Chief Human Resources Officer

Jim Reid has served as Rogers Chief Human Resources Officer since 2011. He is responsible for shaping the talent, culture and engagement strategy at Rogers.

With a keen understanding of what it takes to win, Jim has elevated the employee experience agenda by strengthening key programs in the areas of leadership development, frontline training, talent management, and culture. Over the next three years, Jim will lead Rogers’ workplace transformation initiative, enabling the company to become more collaborative, agile and flexible.

During his tenure, Rogers has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Employers in Canada, a Top Employer for Young People, and one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers.

Jim has more than 20 years of experience leading large, global human resources teams, including Husky Injection Molding Systems and the global health sciences company, MDS Inc. He is a former tactical helicopter pilot in the Canadian Armed Forces and served more than three years in West Germany. Jim holds an MBA from McMaster University and is a graduate of Harvard’s Advanced Management Program.

Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer, Tony is responsible for the overall finance function of Rogers. He also oversees corporate strategy and financial services.

Since joining the company in April 2012, Tony has focused on driving share value growth and, in particular, the operational execution of the company from a financial perspective. He has implemented new financial and operational performance management systems, and embarked on a multi-year cost productivity program delivering consistent efficiency improvements. He has also led various corporate finance initiatives, including acquisitions and the improvement of the company’s balance sheet structure with new and innovative financing arrangements.

Tony is a highly regarded and seasoned executive bringing to the company expertise in all financial functions combined with operational management experience. Tony began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers and left the firm as a senior Partner in 1998 to join his client Celestica International, where he performed in various financial and operational roles as the company grew from a single plant to one of the world’s largest electronics manufacturers. He left Celestica in 2005 to join Bell Canada Enterprises where as Senior Vice President Finance he continued to focus on the operational finance aspects of the company.

Tony serves as a Board Director for Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, and is on the Board of Governors for Ryerson University. He is also Chair of Ryerson’s Finance Committee, and a member of the Mackenzie Health Foundation’s Campaign Cabinet. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant, and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Schulich School of Business.
