Black History Month - How Blacbiblio is writing the next chapter of Black Canadian History

It’s a far too familiar fact within the Black community in Canada: stories of Black Canadians have historically been left out of our country’s history books.

Thankfully, this is changing, in large part due to the tremendous efforts and work of organizations like Blacbiblio.

Blacbiblio is a Canadian Black-owned organization and a proud partner of Rogers Sports & Media’s (RSM) All IN program. Dedicated to highlighting the real stories of Black Canadians in history and their vital contributions to this country, Blacbiblio works to build awareness and knowledge through unique educational resources such as the “ABC’s of Canadian Black History Kit.”

This resource kit brings to life the personalities and events omitted from the pages of Canada’s textbooks, and challenges us to re-examine our ideas of what it means to be Canadian so that we can ultimately embrace the richness of Canada’s diverse history.

Throughout Black History Month and into March, RSM will be providing Blacbiblio with advertising and creative services that support and amplify their “Think you know Canada’s story? Think Again” campaign to Canadians across the country, spreading awareness and driving action.

Take a look at how this unique partnership has helped propel Blacbiblio’s work forward:

It’s through Blacbiblio’s meaningful work that we can build a stronger Canada and ensure Black History becomes a central part of Canadian History.
